SEOUL, Nov. 4 (Yonhap) -- Kazumi Tateishi Trio, who skillfully expressed Studio Ghibli's Japanese animation masterpieces such as "Howl's Moving Castle" and "Spirited Away" into jazz melodies, will visit South Korea. The Japanese jazz trio will hold tour concerts in eight different Korean cities, starting from Busan on Dec. 10, according to Jinurock Entertainment on Thursday. Kazumi Tateishi Trio, which consists of pianist Kazumi Tateishi (piano), bassist Shinobu Sato, and drummer Mao Suzuki, is well known in not only Japan but in Korea as well.The trio has been loved for arranging and performing Ghibli animation theme songs on its album "Ghibli Meets Jazz Beautiful Songs," and met with Korean fans nine years later in 2011. The upcoming tour comes after two years since Kazumi Tateishi Trio performed in Korea in December 2019, and a variety of performances will be presented this year to commemorate the trio's 10th anniversary of playing in Korea.
